It's been a rough week... Little Bug home sick on Monday with a tummy ache and currently he's back to the crying /gripping onto me when it's time to go to school. With a heavy heart we tell him he's loved and send him off.
We've exhausted every topic we can think of as to why he's sad all of a sudden and he just says, "I just miss you." Hoping things get better...
Happy 2012...
This is Walker and his "ultra cool" pose and Ainsley with what looks like her "jazz hands" pose.
Visions of sugar plums danced in their heads...
At the beginning of December we headed out to the Festival of Trees... our favorite place to go and see Santa. He was to arrive at 5pm so we had an hour to check out the trees. I thought this one was pretty clever...
We arrived at Santa's workshop 5 minutes before Santa was to arrive... and told the kiddos to speak slowly and loudly so that Santa could hear. Walker wanted to have a "trial run" with Daddy...
We waited and waited and Santa didn't show up... we had to leave at 5:30 for Ainsley's hair appointment so to say the least we were all disappointed and full of crabbiness. It was starting to snow and Ainsley was certain that Santa was delayed because of the snow. We got home and Ainsley sat down and wrote her letter to Santa right away...
complete with photos so Santa knew exactly what she wanted...
Walker still upset with a missed Santa visit wrote his the next day...
I love the "mostly been good" part...
I love how he wanted to have his envelope look just like Ainsley's...
To the post office we went...
And a surprise came a week or so later...
To say he was excited and surprised is an understatement... see those glistening eyes... he started to read his letter and started to cry... saying he was just so happy! Ainsley had a school function and Little Bug could hardly wait until she got home so that she could open her letter too...
Fun times... hard to believe tomorrow Santa will make his big voyage. Super excited kiddos at our house... you know the bouncing off the walls kind of excitement!
Soakin' up the goodness at Lava Hot Springs today...
Feeling oh so relaxed, came home to decorate cookies... here's the aftermath of cookie decorating...
Ha... feeling not so relaxed anymore! Kiddos did great this year... less of putting on the most frosting and sprinkles a cookie can hold and more spreading of the frosting. Was nice to just let them "have at it" this year.
Today was declared by the kiddos, "Best Day Ever!!!" We woke up early this morning to find snow... they both were so excited yelling, "It's going to be a white Christmas... yeah"...(insert happy dance). I went out before the sun was up and footprints were made to capture the moment...
Hoping to recap a bit of December in the next few days.
Currently the best seat in the house...
It's never a good start to the morning when you are woken up by your 7 year old's sobbing words of... Pugsley... sob... toliet... sob.
Hopefully a lesson was learned NOT to take stuffed animals into the bathroom... especially while using the bathroom. Thankfully he didn't get a flush... just a dunk ...before bathroom usage. Life... always an adventure!
The excitement is building, especially tonight when we move over to the last section of snowflakes...
Our railing has exactly 24 balusters... how perfect is that for a Christmas countdown?? Each night one of the kiddos takes a snowflake down... a little bit of excitedness just before bed. Hard to believe after tonight we will be moving to the last section.
