Happy Halloween!!
Ninja Walker and Dark Angel Ainsley.
We had our first snow of the season today. Walker woke up screaming, "It snowed!" and then did a little dance and song, "It snowed... yeah... yeah... it snowed!"
Willow had her first experience of it... she wasn't too sure at first and walked back and forth on the deck where there wasn't any snow. Love this picture of her just looking at it when I let her out this morning.
Once she got a taste of it... since she eats everything (which is a story for another day) she loved it and ran and ran in the yard. The raspberry bushes were all laden with snow, which freaked her out so she stayed clear of those.
She was like the kiddos... didn't want to come in when it was time to go to work.
Tonight we finished up football in the rain and it was their best game yet! Walker loved being a part of it all this past 6 weeks... he learned a ton... had some great plays... listened to his coaches... had a blast and really truly enjoyed the game!
Here's his big play in tonight's game he is #21 thanks to Uncle Scott and is grabbing the yellow flag (and is the closest kiddo to us)...go Colts!! Looks like he got the penalty flag for a tackle but it wasn't a penalty on him.
Life has been hectic to say the least. This week I started another new job... working with kiddos in an After School Program. Still have my other "new job" in the mornings at a different school so we've had to all adjust to the newness of it all. Lists have taken on a whole new meaning around here... A list to map out the day with chores and jobs for kiddos to do... where parents need to be... what's for dinner etc. So that everyone will be on one page and know exactly what is going on each and every day.
Then after Ainsley left her lunch at home today (had mini meltdown at school when teacher said she couldn't call home and had to find another alternative for lunch) and library books were left home last week we added yet another list... right by the front door. A little reminder for kiddos to double check things before leaving...
3 days into my double jobs and were hanging in there... Tuesday are just plain yucky with dropping me off at work, Stewart taking kiddos to piano practice, back to pick me up, onto football practice or game and then to end the evening with scouts! Just one more football game and we can breath a sigh... a small sigh.. since Ainsley starts Basketball tonight. It's all good. Love my new afternoon job... ended up getting more hours than I had originally thought or planned for but I really enjoy it... kiddos there are really in need of extra help... so it makes it very rewarding to see them excel.
So the Halloween costumes have been bought and I found out on Friday that they will not be allowed to wear them to school this year... only K and 2nd grade will participate. Kiddos are upset to say the least with a, "That's not fair!!" Put in an email to teachers to find out the scoop.
Last night the kiddos and I got out the Halloween decorations. Evidently Willow was not into paying attention as to what was going up. This morning after being outside for a bit she came in and immediately went under the table... growling.
She's not a fan of my spooky photos I put up... actually neither is Walker... he asked if we HAD to put these out because they are creepy. I love them! They are the kind that change when you look at them at different angles.
Got Halloween costumes bought and planned out this past weekend. Ainsley's on the edge of too cutesy vs too grown up costume and it took us forever to come up with something we both could agree on. She's going as a Dark Angel and Walker who wanted to a costume for each day of the month finally decided on a Ninja... a red ninja.
She had a best friends birthday party sleepover last night... she decided to pull an all nighter and was a talking fool about how NOT tired she was when she came home this morning... then the afternoon hit and she was a crabby, tired girl who could barely keep her eyes opened to eat dinner... even after sleeping most of the afternoon away.
She has decided that staying up all night wasn't as cool as it first sounded! Ha.
Finally after months of sharing with the kiddos we finally have our bathroom finished... technically we've been enjoying it for over a month. This bathroom definitely had its fair share of problems... so glad it was the last one or we would have never done the others! All in all we love how it turned out!
Here are the before and after pictures..
Walker had his second football game last night... same position played cornerback. He let a person get around him with the football and they were on their way sprinting toward the end zone... he chased after him at full speed... just out of hands reach for the flag when opposing team gave him a shove... he fell hard and the tears started. Ugh... hard part being the Momma you so want to run out on the field and grab your baby... he made it off the field and towards us where he sat for a moment and then was back into play. So proud that he continued playing hard for the rest of the game.
They had pictures afterwards... and he got missed with the after game snack... worse part of the game you'd think was getting hurt... NOPE it was not getting the snack. Long story short had to learn another hard life lesson that unfortunately things like that happen and we can't control them we can only put that into the area of "how not to behave."
There seems to be a lack of Ainsley photos lately... so I thought I'd share this one. She saved up money and bought a new set of 64 crayons... first thing she did when she got home was organize them by color... a girl after my own heart!
