Ainsley's first middle school yearbook...

She was super excited that she made the front cover... in the top left hand corner of the bottom picture!

The school actually had a day where they let the kids sign each others books.  Most used acronym... H.A.G.S.  I had to ask Ainsley why everyone wrote that... I guess it means "Have a great summer!"

Hard to believe we are well into June. I think we've officially recovered from the May craziness and are onto summer!

Over the past few weeks its been non stop... end of school, end of my work, jury duty trial for Stewart, little bug turned 10, Ainsley got her 7th grade shots, Walker had a  big fall which produced a lot of blood and thankfully not a broken nose!

Here's to summer... we are so ready for some new adventures!

Can you believe we now have a 7th grader and 5th grader!!! I'm still scratching my head that the "baby" will be in his last year of elementary school in the fall!!

They have certainly grown and changed so much this year...

Hooray we made it to the last extra curricular event for the year!!!

Kiddos had their piano recitals Saturday... so proud only kiddos to bow... and while little Bug's fingers froze up he was able to complete his song. They were one of the only ones that had their pieces memorized!!

It was a good year with the new piano teacher... I think the kiddos have grown musically and they like her which is a plus. They both got their Festival certificates and Ainsley got her first gold cup!  (When you have 3 superior years in a row you get a gold cup.) Walker has 2 superiors so he should receive his gold cup next year!

One more thing off the list for the end of year activities... the 6th grade choir performance.

She and friend had another moment to shine... with a solo part.

One of the songs they performed was in dedication to the classmate that died earlier in the year due to carbon monoxide poisoning.  Oh my I knew I'd be teary-eyed but watching them struggle to sing it was very emotional.

Can't believe these cute girls are just about 7th graders!!!!

Pretty much the best thing about being a Mama is watching those little life moments... love it!

Kiddos learned how to use a mower over the weekend... love the smiles of  "I've got it!"

Finally a little story about Walker.  Last week in scouts they made marshmallow catapults to finish off their engineer pin.

And then loaded a marshmallow and let it fly... I am so very glad that we found this troop, it has been so good for both boys!

Ainsley had her last game yesterday and they won all 3 sets... first time this season!!

This was a really good group of girls who really came together to as a team... there was no ball stealer... no ball hogger... they all just played together!!  Hopefully they will all play together next spring for city league and will want to try out  in the fall for Middle School Volleyball.

One more thing to cross of the end of school list yea. What's left... choir performance with a solo for Ainsley, piano recitals, scouts cross over ceremony for Bug and a little over a week of school left!!

First thing to finish up is Track... yea one more thing to cross off the list for the end of school.  Ainsley did well in her track events at city we won't know the results for a bit since they don't run semi- finals or finals... just heats and then they compile the times.

Thought I was going to miss her events the first day since I got stuck at work with an issue. I got countless texts of "are you here yet??"  Who said this cell phone plan of unlimited texting was a good option???  I made it just in time to see her 4x200 relay and then her 100m.  Day 2 was the long jump and medley relay... again another good day for her she didn't jump as far as her best but close to it and her medley rocked the track with 2nd place!

Fun times... such sweet... fun girls... so very glad she has a group of good girls!!!

Yesterday Ainsley found out that she qualified in ALL her events to attend the city meet at ISU next week.  All 4 middle schools will compete against each other for one big mega track meet.

She even added an event to her lineup... she filled in for a missing person in the 4x200 relay last week. They did well and she earned the spot for the city meet.  This picture was taken during her leg of the relay... working on form this weekend... looks like she's watching her shadow as she runs?!?

Things are starting to finish up... yea!  Getting tired of the long school nights running to and from sporting events... grabbing a burger along the way to another thing... and dropping into bed late.  Can't wait for long, lazy summer nights at home!
