Ainsley is officially a cheerleader now that she got her uniform.  I was thinking they'd have maybe 2 uniforms but she gets... 5!!!  She got 3 yesterday and will get the other 2 when the current 8th graders finish the pep assembly with them on the last day of school.  Seriously how cute are these???

This week they actually have someone coming in to measure them for their jackets, camp and cheer practice gear!! She is beyond excited and thrilled about her new adventure and actually loves her EARLY practices!  They have been working on the pep assembly dance and their stunting group... she is going to be the flier!!  I'm a tad nervous about that but she's fine with it... the summer tumbling classes will be very helpful.

A 5am wake up call this morning to get Ainsley to cheer practice!  As I'm zombie walking to get some coffee she says, "At least you get to see the beautiful sunrise each day!"... life is good.

Ainsley asked for a pair of chopsticks the other day, and for some odd reason we actually had a pair!  Was she eating Chinese or using it for a craft project you ask??

Um... No she didn't want to get "cheetos fingers" when she ate some chips.

Hard to believe this little Cub Scout...

has grown into this Cub Scout that is about ready to receive his arrow of light and move onto Boy Scouts...

Went to the Ramp Riot last night at the Holt Arena...

Something we know virtually nothing about but went to support a local hometown boy Colton Satterfield who won the gold medal at the X Games last year.

I work with his Mom at the school and both kiddos had her for a teacher so it was a fun thing to go and see him and the other athletes doing their stunts. Crazy oh my... I didn't bring my big camera so I borrowed these photos from the paper.

A little side conversation on the way home, "Hey Bug... this isn't going to be recreated in the backyard is it?"

Busy oh my... this girl's schedule is exhausting at times. Last week she found out she made it into "Franklin Singers" which is a pretty big deal... she was over the moon excited... just as excited as she was for making the cheer team.

City League Volleyball has begun... this is her sport... she really loves everything about it! To bad she didn't have all the same girls as last year's team so they've had to start once again to work as a team.

I had to fill in last week as "coach" so I got a better action shot from the side instead of always getting the backside shots.

Track season has also begun for her and she decided to try discus this year... I just love her enthusiasm to try new things.

All of this busyness led us to here yesterday... a Dr appointment.

Which ultimately led us back to this place...

I seriously do NOT want to see the X-ray place again!!  Luckily her ankle has some tendinitis going on and it's not broken... thankgoodness!!!  So while we are crazy with the schedule we are also now fitting in time to ice and some possible resting time??  Come on Summer Break... we need you ASAP!

She's officially a teenager...

And the current phrase in the house used mostly by Walker is, "Geesh... Teenagers!"  He then says,"Aren't you lucky I have 2 more years until then?!"

It was a rough Pre-Birthday on this Mama who has loved planning all past birthdays.  There were no handmade invites... no decorations... no Birthday theme... no handmade Birthday cake... nada... zilch!  And I was limited to 1 Birthday Picture... the horror.

She sent a group text to friends she wanted to invite... requested pizza... ice cream and movies.  She did want to do a few challenges which included... Chubby Bunny.  Where you have to say Chubby Bunny every time you put a marshmallow in your mouth.  Person with most marshmallows in their mouth wins.  She made it to 5.  Friend with very loud mouth... 9.  The other challenge they played... Jelly Belly's Bean Boozled.  This game involves Jelly Beans. You spin the spinner to see which jelly bean you get.  You may get a black jelly bean but is it licorice or skunk spray? If you get yellow is it buttered popcorn or moldy cheese?

Even though it was not a Mama made party it was fun to listen to them laugh, smile and have a great time.  Here is the 1 Birthday picture I was limited to...

This has been happening this week...

Cheerleader tryouts!!!  I was a little concerned when Ainsley first mentioned this last week... Cheerleader?!?  As I voiced my concerns... "Um back-flips... double cross pike round-off... honey you don't know how to do any of those things?"

She says, "Well it's not just based on those things... it's also on attitude and school spirit and being able to represent our school proudly!..I REALLY want to try out... I'll get a job to pay for the cost... but I REALLY want to try!"

She is so darn full of confidence and life... so very proud of her for trying out this week and giving her all each and every day.  I definitely have to give her  a Y * E * A *!!! for her enthusiasm and determination.

Last night she showed us all she learned... she's never done any sort of cheerleading camp or anything and I must say she was pretty darn cute... so loud... happy... confident and just as cute as can be.  I know she would represent FMS proudly.  Tonight is the "official tryouts" ...I'm so darn nervous for her... think I might just throw up!

All night she's been saying... "I can't stop smiling... I'm the happiest girl in the world!!!

Saturday was a very busy day... after piano festival Walker had his last Basketball game of the season.  I'm always sad to see the short season end because it seems like they just start to "get it" and work together as a team.

Switching teams this year has been really good for Walker... he really learned the game this season... they went back to the basics, had encouragement for all the kiddos and there was fun!!  He did good... he needs to work on his lay ups... he seems to think they are hook shots?!. They didn't win a game all season but on the last game... Walker was a defensive pro... he did awesome,  his best game by far... I actually had a sore throat from all the "good" yelling.

During the last couple of minutes he started limping... he had hurt his toenail the day before and so I thought it might be rubbing... but someone actually stopped on it... We told him he could "suck it up" for the last few minutes and then he made a basket... his first of the season.  It almost made him forget that his toe hurt!!

Number 21... on the left with red jersey and black shorts... such a great game for him!

It was an all around great Saturday and Ainsley wanted to go and get a Shamrock Shake to celebrate...
